What kinds of lessons do you offer?

We currently offer instruction in Guitar, Piano, Banjo, Mandolin, Voice, Drums/Percussion, Violin, and Electric Bass.

How much do lessons cost? How long does each appointment last?

Each lesson is a private one-on-one appointment. Voice & Banjo/Advanced Fingerstyle Guitar lessons cost $25 per 30min.  All other lessons are $20 per 30min.  Lesson tuition must be prepaid in order to make an appointment. Most students attend a weekly lesson.

What age is old enough to start taking lessons?

Generally, a student should be at least 8 to start taking guitar, drums, or bass. This does require the proper size instrument. Some are ready to begin piano at 6 or so depending on their attention span and ability to read. Students should be 12 or older in order to receive the maximum benefits of voice training.

Who are your instructors?

Guitar, Electric Bass - Norm Aquilo

Piano - Linda Francis

Piano - Pam Durham

Drums/Percussion - Steve Edmunds, Jr.

Banjo - Michael Thompson

Voice - Brenda Brokaw

How many lessons are required in order to play guitar, drums, etc. . .

While we understand that most students enjoy music as a hobby, we like to view the study of music as the study of a language. Mastery can take a lifetime, but success might be defined as the ability to express one's self through the instrument. We make every attempt to accelerate the learning process through teaching standard music notation (the written language of music) and using other techniques such as ear training. There is no time-based course of study and there is no commitment to attend lessons beyond the satisfaction and enjoyment of the student.
